The 3 Ifs Campaign: A Clark Hillel Initiative

This famous saying by Rabbi Hillel (our organization’s namesake) is the inspiration for a new and exciting campaign that will improve Clark University Hillel and make a difference in the community, at the same time.

This campaign will work much like walk-a-thons that we are all familiar with, however instead of walking, or swimming, or whatever, students will be committing to volunteer 36 hours over the course of the 2008-2009 academic year in a local social service agency. In this way, students will be helping themselves and Hillel through the fundraising, and they will also be helping others through the social justice work that they will be doing in the community.

Hillel will provide participants with agency contacts, and we will also coordinate logistics and transportation for program participants to be able to complete their volunteer commitment. Hillel will also provide students with the tools in order to be able to successfully solicit pledges from their family, friends, and others.

The program will begin sometime in late August or September, and pledges will be solicited until October. People can contribute as little as $5 up to as much as they want.

Our hope is that this fundraiser will be able to ensure the quality of Hillel programming that the Clark community has come to expect. We also hope that this campaign will allow us to make positive change in the Worcester community.

More information for students on how to participate, or for others on how to pledge, will be coming to this page over the summer. So please stay tuned!
