High Holy Days 2008!

The High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) are an introspective time during which we assess our past conduct and commit to strive to make the world and our lives better. Here at Clark Hillel we are glad to be able to support you in your commemoration.

Clark Hillel will be sponsoring our own Erev Rosh Hashanah services and oneg on September 30th at 6:30 pm in a location to be determined. You are also welcome to attend services throughout the High Holy Days at the five synagogues in Worcester that love hosting Clark students.

As with all of our events, we invite you to observe the Holy Days as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time. We table in the University Center Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:30am-1:30pm and 5pm-7pm where you can find sign-ups for walking or carpool groups, and you can pick up complimentary tickets to services at local synagogues that require them (as well as our normal retinue of tabling activities). You can also visit our office, call us, or email us at any time.

The five synagogues in Worcester are all within 5 miles of campus, and depending on each student's level of observance people choose to carpool or walk together to services. Some students choose to walk, but they do not want to walk that far, so many Worcester families are gracious in opening their homes to Clark students for the duration of the Holy Day. If you are interested in this option please contact Hillel Director David Coyne (508-793-7296 or dcoyne"at"clarku.edu)for more information.
